SCOPE

The Ceremonial Courtroom is referred to as the "Mother Court" because the Southern District of New York (SDNY) is the place where everything gravitates to or emanates from. The 500 Pearl Building is in the news often as the place you see litigants walking in and out of its’ famous gold entrance doors. Woodwork Restoration, LLC held the $210,000 contract directly under the GSA which required bonding and security clearances. We restored aged existing interior wood finishes that were sun faded, scratched, damaged and/or soiled. We matched stripped wood to existing finishes and shaded and blended existing finishes to restore evenness and continuity. Work in this relatively recent 1991 room required many specialized processes as there were inhabited spaces directly adjacent to the work space (all “hand” applications w/no spraying of finish) and contemporary millwork formats of razor thin veneers mixed with misc solid woods.
